The Future of Aquatics in Mansfield - Become Informed and Have Your Say

This year, the Mansfield Shire Council will make a decision about the future of aquatics in Mansfield.  As the development of an indoor aquatic facility for Mansfield would represent the largest single investment of funds that Council has undertaken, it is essential that Council have a clear indication of community support for the project.

At this stage, Council is considering two options:

1. Refurbish and maintain the existing outdoor pool, or

2. Build a new indoor aquatic facility and close the outdoor pool.

Simply put, continued operation, maintenance and refurbishment of the existing outdoor facility would maintain current summer-only service levels and have no significant impact on rates.
By comparison, a new heated indoor aquatic facility will provide year round access as well as health and community benefits including hydrotherapy, rehabilitation and other warm water activities and would necessitate a rate increase.
