YEAR-ROUND AQUATIC FACILITY FOR MANSFIELD INC

Description

Year-round Aquatic Facility for Mansfield Inc is a community group formed to develop a project for a heated indoor pool and hydrotherapy facility to suit the lifestyle needs, and demographics, of residents and visitors to the Mansfield Shire.

The group has extensively researched and conducted studies towards the provision of such a facility, with the addition of appropriate complementary areas such as a gymnasium, therapy rooms and outdoor soccer/hockey field. These facilities are currently not available in Mansfield. Such a facility would offer support to individuals, sports groups, schools, our aged care centre, disability providers, a broad range of community care services and act as a focus for health and well-being programs for the community - programs that enhance the maintenance of a high quality independent life, and help prevent acute care.

YAFM is working towards the project through maintaining community support, developing awareness, lobbying of local government and funding bodies and undertaking fundraising for the project's community contribution.

Interested individuals can join YAFM for a $5 membership fee, thereby showing support for the project. Fundraising assistance and admin support are always welcome.
